Police are appealing for information regarding a teenage boy riding an electric scooter on Fishers Lane who has reportedly been aggressively knocking on residents’ doors before riding away. Whilst this may not appear to be the most serious offence, residents have the right to feel safe and secure in their own homes without fear of intimidation or anti-social behaviour.
We would also like to remind the public that privately owned electric scooters cannot legally be used on public roads, pavements or public land unless they are part of an authorised rental scheme. Riders can be reported for offences including driving without insurance and otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
Police have the power to seize electric scooters being used unlawfully and they will be destroyed.
Anyone with information, CCTV, doorbell footage, or who may know the identity of the rider is asked to contact police. | ||
